To find the mistakes in heaps
of paintings and texts makes a new beginning of an art piece. That's the
difference between art and life - the architect can grow roses but the
doctor have to bury his mistakes.
Art in the zone between life and art might be found "unprovocative"
and even beautiful - a terrible thing in the artmileue of hout couture -
but art as well (and sometimes "kitsch" as the paintings of Odd
Nerdrum).
To find art of first class in
the heaps of paintings is a classification of first order - masterpieces
or mistakes?!
Itīs a rather difficult task for the artist himself. But after many years
of painting the same motifs, searching and living the motifs, itīs
possible to find first class and second class pieces - time tells!
Isn't it possible to se this in "real" life too - and not only
in the artists studio?
