The Norwegians see Hamid Karzai,
the Pashtune, as a bridge between enemies, a patient man able to wait and
wait again. The more time won, without brutality, without killings, the
better chance for peace and the beginning of the rebuilding of Afghanistan.
Statoil and maybe Aker-Kvaerner
present solutions mutually beneficent to the Afghans and Norwegians.
Q: What do the Afghans have?
A: Territory for pipelines, minerals and a geopolitical space for
intelligence in the region.
Q: What do the Norwegians
have?
A: Constructive Know How. Especially
in the oil business!
Real peace keeping is beneficent for
all players. Trade and exchange of information is essential for a lasting
peace.
Norway have showed real will to
create peace, since the introduction of the Nobel Peace Price one hundred
years ago and is still working in this tradition - as a member of NATO and
UN.
The peace keeping forces of Norway
are on wings in Afghanistan and maybe soon in Turkey.
To win peace there are a lot of
force needed!
Whatever the words of pacifist Johan
Galtung - predicting the collapse of the US- Empire within 20 years - in a
wave of global terrorism following the second strike against IRAQ.

The Norwegians are active in Sri
Lanka, in Palestine, in Afghanistan and, were active, for a while, i Tjetjenia,
and are willing to go to Nepal, some of them as private citizens and others as bold diplomats and envoys
of the Norwegian Parliament.
In this context it would be a blessing for the world
if Kristin Krohn Devold became the head of NATO.
Norway is lucky enough just to leave the UN security counsel, with Itīs
difficult decisions ahead, and Norway express a lot of constructive charm
at the moment.
With Kristin Krohn Devold as Nato Leader the constructive forces
might bloom and alleviate the
burdens on the war thorn Afghan tribes, Palestinians and other small
peoples all over the world and create some security!
The new type of war - the asymmetrical war - is a war between small etnic
groups of people (Alquaida, Tjetjenians, Armenians, Kurds, Jews,
Palestinians, Tibetans etc) and big states (USA, China, Russia, Turkey
etc) - and the Norwegian defense minister Krohn Devold might understand
this very well.
To understand this is the only way to minimize the
risk of exploding terrorism, and a completely different path, compared to
that of the Norwegian allied USA.
Norway is in a unique posistion
between the powers of the brand new world and might be able to bridge the
gaps and, at least for a while, hold the shaking and cracking world
together.
