Only people detached from the experience of the difference between
boys and girls, i.e. young students, can come upon such a stupid
idea that there are no differences between the genders, other than
a few biological details, as the revolutionaries of "the sixties" did,
and media then boosted.
To a caring and engaged parent to
both boys and girls the difference is blatantly obvious.
Infantile students always go for revolutionary ideas.
But now we have an even worse infantilization going on, namely
on the market where "itīs the money of the kids we are after"!
Wargames are blockbusters - in computer games as well as in the
movies. Isnīt it the old wars of the dragon fighters and nazis it is the
future wars of science fiction.
And when you, as a grown up man and parent, turn to the screen
realities of CNN and BBC you find the war again, unfortunate not
as a game any more.
Its the male infantilization of politics to go to war, what ever the
ominous and grown up words of Clausewitz.
In all this the media plays an important and a rather nasty double role;
in addition to the male propaganda, media is propagating the
infantilization of the female, in colurful soap-dreams of a perfect body,
a perfekt health and a perfect home and the colorful horrors that strike
if you are without.
