 There
are things that unite the Swedish artist Carl Milles and the
Swedish engineer Ivar Kreuger.
They belonged to the same generation (born respectively 1875 and 1880).
They were able to work hard.
In Cranbrook and on Lidingö, Milles showed his discrete splendor.
In New York, in the Wintergarden on top Park Avenue 791, Kreuger
showed his. During the twenties Milles and Kreuger each and together created more than the
most.
Milles finished Herculean works of monumental sculpture.
Kreuger created the first global Finance Empire -
an empire based on the fundamental principle of justice and fairness.
They had a keen feeling for the classical style and were very much
interested in Hellenistic design and philosophy.
They certainly were "modern" too - Kreuger loved jazz music and Milles created
"Agnosto Deo" but both took intense part in the scientific
revolution of the twenties.
Ivar Kreuger invented new financial methods and Carl Milles invented new
artistic forms.
The Magnate Ivar Kreuger tragically died (1932) by accident and
the
Artist Carl Milles naturally by age (1955).
