When the Iron Curtain was torn down many Scandinavians and
Western Europeans thought that everything was as OK as it had been
during itīs existence.
Itīs an irony that idealistic and wealthy people do not think much about
the brutality of politics. They just read the papers and go on with every
day business.
The rich westerners thought that it was a good thing that communism
fell and even the western generals were talking about the absence of
a military threat. But the brutality of politics is obvious in Europe again
and Yugoslavia is the target of new bombings and the Kosovo
Albanians of new ethnic cleansings and the whole European stability
is at stake.
