There are a field of petroglyphic sites in the
Norwegian furthest north, in Alta, where people more than five thousand
years ago were in full activity.
Thousands of depictions of humans and animals tell different
stories, but at a few places it's possible to see that the Reindeer, the
Elk, the Bear, the Whale
and the Fish come close
together on these wide fields of prehistorical signs.
Body language tell one thing and graphic signs on the bodies of the
animals an other. They are all standing. Stillness and tension is obvious
It's a message telling about the meeting of different species and thus
about different human tribes - the ones preying on each and one of these
animals.
At Alta the sign of the gathering of the tribes
seem to be obvious.
